Nestled in the heart of Hunters Hill, Miranda is a European-inspired venue housed in one of the area’s most treasured heritage buildings. Built circa 1890 and originally named by Joseph F. Clarke, a prominent figure in the 19th Century, the space has long served the local community, from general store to art gallery. (Source: huntershilltrust.org.au). Thoughtfully restored and extended between 2023 and 2025 by Richard Keily, Miranda now blends old-world charm with new life, preserving its timeless character for years to come.
For me, Miranda is personal. I grew up watching my mum cook with love and skill, which sparked my journey into food. I began my training at Fellini, a two-hatted restaurant on the Gold Coast known for its award-winning Italian cuisine and in-house creations. My journey later took me to London, working at Jackson Gilmour, where I catered for high-profile events, including Prince Philip’s 90th birthday and worked at the Michelin-starred The Harwood Arms, learning the heart of traditional British cuisine. The Harwood Arms is the sister restaurant to The Ledbury, once ranked the best restaurant in the UK and among the top 50 in the world.
Returning to Australia, I refined by craft at the hatted Restaurant Two, in Brisbane, working under the well-renowned David Pugh and Mathew Fury. I then travelled and worked across Japan and New Zealand and eventually launched Scramble & Bean, a food van that evolved into a café in Rushcutters Bay.
Miranda brings it all together; the warmth I learned from my mum, the precision of fine kitchens, and the elegance of old-world hospitality. We invite you to slow down, share a meal, and enjoy this special place with us.
